Tornado Siren Testing Begins May 23

Tornado Siren

Installation of the City’s new high-tech Tornado Siren System is almost complete. The next step in the process is to test the five new sirens. Testing will take place starting Tuesday, May 23, weather permitting, and will continue through Thursday, May 25. If weather becomes a deterrent, testing dates may be pushed back.

During this time, sounding of the sirens will take place at random intervals, and only during business hours. The sound will be minimal at the beginning of the week, but will increase throughout the week as each siren is activated. Sounding of the sirens will be kept at an absolute minimum. Please note this is just a test. Learn more about the new system here.
