Hudson City Schools will be participating in Walk/Bike to School Day on Friday, September 29. Safe Routes Hudson and the Schools encourage students who live 1 to 2 miles from school and have a safe path to participate. Biking to work or school promotes healthy habits among children and adults, and also helps the environment, decreases traffic congestion, leads to safer streets, and creates a sense of community.
Parents and students living in the “Walk Zone” can pre-plan which route to take with the Safe Routes Hudson map. Helmets, reflective clothing and cautious walking and riding are encouraged.
There will be parent volunteers and an increased police presence in the neighborhoods surrounding Hudson Schools. Participants will receive water bottles, Clif Bars, and will have a chance to enter for raffle prizes. Say hi to the Hudson Police Officers while you’re on your way!
