Kidde, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall to replace certain Kidde fire extinguishers. Nearly 40 million fire extinguishers are involved in this recall.
These fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
To learn more about this recall, including the model numbers included in the recall, how to contact Kidde to request a free replacement fire extinguisher, and for instructions on returning the recalled unit, read the CPSC press release here.
