Special Events / Weddings
Special Events on Public Greens
More than 70 special events are held on public properties in Hudson throughout the year. These events range from 5-kilometer runs, the Home and Garden Tour, and the Ice Cream Social, to the spectacular Taste of Hudson festival on Labor Day weekend. The Communications Department administers the permit
process, helps coordinate city services needed for each event, and works with individual event organizers. If you would like to hold a special event in Hudson, contact the

Special Event Applications
To apply to hold a special event on City property, please complete the Special Event Application and submit it either electronically by email to Jody Roberts or print it, complete it and return it to:

You must also submit a Certificate of Insurance and a $150 security deposit, Jody Roberts at Town Hall BEFORE your event will be approved. Please be sure to read the Special Event Handbook in its entirety so that you are familiar with the rules and regulations regarding events on our greens. If your event will include vendors, each vendor must complete a vendor application and submit it with proof of insurance.
Block Parties
Residents or homeowner's associations that plan to hold a block party must complete the following application and have it approved prior to holding the event. Please indicate which streets, if any, you would like to close. The City will provide cones to block the streets, but the street closures MUST be approved ahead of time. Remember that nothing can be placed in the street that can't be removed quickly to allow emergency vehicles access to the street should the need arise.
Weddings and Wedding Photography
Our public greens are a beautiful setting for small weddings or wedding photography. Weddings must be stand up only, as we do not allow tables or chairs on the greens for these events. Weekend availability is limited due to the number of events we hold each year on the green. There is no charge for use of the green for a wedding, but you must be "sponsored" by a Hudson resident. Signs/Banners
Signs may be approved to be posted on the corner of the Gazebo green one week before your event. Also, space can be reserved to hang banners from the light posts in the downtown for one week during the year. There is no fee for a sign, but there is a $300 installation fee for banners.
