Staff
The Hudson Police Department Communica-tions Center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by 10 full-time and part-time staff. Two dispatchers are on duty between 8 a.m. and midnight daily, while one dispatcher typically works midnight to 8 a.m.

Responsibilities
Dispatchers handle all Police, Fire, and EMS radio traffic, as well as incoming telephone lines, both emergency (9-1-1) and non-emergency calls.

Calls are recorded and dispatched via Computer-Aided Dispatch, or CAD, that simplifies data entry and dispatches calls more quickly with more information. The calls are sent directly to the in-car mobile computer where the officer can read the call details. This provides quick and accurate information exchange between Dispatch and the officer and vice versa.
