Safe Routes to School Project Commencement
The Hudson Safe Routes to School Project began November 4, 2013. The project includes installing a five foot sidewalk on Glen Echo Drive from Victoria Parkway to Aurora Street, a crosswalk and sidewalks at the intersection of Middleton Road and Winterberry Drive, and installing five lighted school beacons on North Hayden Parkway. The contractor will begin installing the sidewalk on Glen Echo Drive near Victoria Parkway and work at the other two locations later in the project. Work will continue through 2013, and final restoration will be completed in 2014. Please contact Brad Kosco, City of Hudson Engineering Department, at (330) 342-1770 with questions.

North Main Street Streetscape Program
In anticipation of the Ohio Department of Transportation resurfacing Route 91 in 2015, the City has been meeting with residents regarding design and construction of a new "streetscape" for the downtown corridor. The goal is to complete the downtown beautification project prior and in conjunction with the ODOT resurfacing project.
In December, 2012, a kick off meeting was held with McKnight & Associates (landscape architects – also completed First & Main Green), City staff, downtown merchants and property owners to gather input and suggestions for the streetscape. In April, 2013, we received preliminary concept drawings based on input from the merchants and staff then worked with McKnight on revisions. In July, we met again with merchants to review the preliminary concepts. After some additional revisions, based on that meeting, the plan was presented to City Council.
