Construction Alerts & Updates

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience due to construction this summer. We have scheduled the construction around school and important events in order to minimize the impact to the community. We hope you will use this information when you make decisions about your travel patterns this summer. The dates are only approximates, and may change.

1. State Route 303 Milling and Resurfacing Project. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will mill and resurface the entire length of SR 303 from the border of Stow to the border of Streetsboro. The project will begin in May at the SR 8 off ramp. Milling and resurfacing will begin mid-June, and final work will be completed in August 2013. Work near the SR 91 intersections and adjacent SR 8, will be performed at night. Expect delays, but two-way traffic will be maintained.
2. Middleton Road Project. Akron will replace waterline bolts and install fire hydrants at locations along the roadway. The project will being in June and run through September. The roadway will be resurfaced when the project is complete. Expect delays, but two-way traffic will be maintained.
3. Norton Road Hill Lowering Project. Hudson and Stow will lower a hill on Norton Road near Duffield Drive. The work will begin in late May and run through mid-June. Norton Road will be closed for two days over a weekend, but otherwise two-way traffic will be maintained.
4. Norton Road Resurfacing. Hudson and Stow will mill and resurface Norton Road from SR 91 to Stow Road beginning in late June and running through August. Expect delays, but two- way traffic will be maintained.
5. Barlow Road-Terex Road Resurfacing. Hudson will mill and resurface part of Barlow and Terex Roads, from SR 91 to the railroad tracks near Little Tikes. The work will begin in May and run through July. The project includes bike lanes from Hudson Industrial Parkway to the railroad tracks. Expect delays, but two-way traffic will be maintained.
6. Hines Hill Road Resurfacing Project. Hudson will mill and resurface Hines Hill Road from Prospect Street to the corporation line with the Village of Boston Heights. The work will begin in September and run through November. Expect delays, but two-way traffic will be maintained.
7. Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Program. The City will install concrete sidewalk along the west side of Glen Echo Drive from Victoria Parkway to Hudson-Aurora Road. The project also includes sidewalk along Middleton Road from Ellsworth School to Winterberry and includes a crosswalk on Middleton Road. Electronic flashers will be installed on North Hayden as part of this project, and bike racks will be purchased for the schools. No major traffic disruptions.
8. The City of Stow Resurfacing Program. Stow will resurface Hudson Drive from Commerce Drive to Seasons Road. Work begins in April and will last approximately four weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but expect delays. Stow will also resurface Stow Road from Fishcreek Road to Norton Road. Work begins in mid-April, and the project is expected to last approximately four weeks.
9. The City of Hudson Annual Road Program. Miscellaneous residential streets in Hudson will receive improvements. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but expect delays if the improvements are in your neighborhood.
