Members
Pursuant to Article III of the Charter of the City of Hudson, Ohio, the City Council consists of seven members who serve as the legislative body of the city. Four members are elected by ward and three are elected at-large. The president of City Council is elected by its members shown in the table below.

David A. Basil, Ward Two (Council President) Alex D. Kelemen, Ward Three Keith Smith, Ward Four

Responsibilities
City Council’s powers include all legislative powers and determination of policy, appointment of the City Manager, appointment of the Clerk of Council and confirmation of City Manager’s appointment of:

• Director of EMS
• Finance Director
• Fire Chief
• Police Chief
• Solicitor

The City Council also serves as liaisons and appoints members to various citizen boards, committees, and commissions.
