Additional Ways to Celebrate
Before the Earth Day Celebration begins, you can enjoy...
Earth Day Plog (Litter Pickup):
Hosted by the City of Hudson and GoGreenGo.org. Participants should report to Eric Hancsak, Board President & Founder of GoGreenGo.org.
Want to start your Earth Day celebration early? Meet at the Gazebo Green in downtown Hudson to plog! A 'plog' is a litter pickup completed while walking or jogging. Gloves and collection bags will be provided. Various routes are available to accommodate various levels of ability. Come on your own, grab a friend, or bring the family out to help beautify downtown Hudson. You may arrive anytime during the event hours and participate for as long or as little as you like.
When: April 22 from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Gazebo Green
Once you complete your cleanup route, be sure to head to City Hall for the rest of the Earth Day Celebration from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
April BioBlitz:
Want to start celebrating even earlier? Participate in the BioBlitz all month long until Earth Day. A BioBlitz is an ongoing event where teams work together to identify as many species as possible. No experience is required - anyone can participate from a smartphone.* The goal is to bring awareness and appreciation to our natural world while surveying the biodiversity of the City of Hudson. Individuals that submit the greatest number of species will receive a prize. The only requirements are (1) that observations must be made within the city limits of Hudson and (2) observations must be added to the "Hudson Bio Blitz (2023)" Project within the dates of April 1 - 21. To participate, create an account here.
*For the best viewing experience, you may download the iNaturalist app from the Apple Store or Google Play. You may also participate online without downloading the app.
When: All month until Earth Day! April 1 - April 21
Where: anywhere in the City of Hudson limits
