Project Description
Beginning in Summer 2017, the children of Hudson will have a fun, new way to beat the heat: the City of Hudson and the
Kiwanis Club of Hudson have partnered to create a new splash pad at
Veterans Way Park. The splash pad location was chosen for its proximity to downtown Hudson, restrooms, parking, shade, and a pavilion.
The project originated with the Hudson Kiwanis, whose members approached the City about the club’s desire to donate to a sizable project for the City’s children. Club members discussed ideas with City administrators and ultimately decided on the splash pad. Kiwanis will make a substantial monetary contribution toward the $200,000 project. The City will pay for the remainder of the cost, and will pay for ongoing maintenance and repairs.
In the future, shade structures may be added around the splash pad.
