Project Description



What

The SR 91 North Turn Lane Improvements project includes:
  • The addition of left turn lanes at Valley View Road, Herrick Park Drive, and Hines Hill Road
  • The installation of an 8-foot sidewalk and curb on the east side of the roadway
  • The installation of 5-foot bike lanes on both sides of the road
  • Resurfacing of SR 91 from Brandywine Drive to Middleton Road
  • Improved intersection lighting
  • The elimination of heaving shoulders along both sides of the roadway
  • Improved drainage systems
  • The City of Akron Water will install a new waterline between Herrick Park Drive and Middleton Road.

Where

SR 91 between Brandywine Drive and Middleton Road.

Why

The purpose of this project is to improve safety, reduce congestion, provide better pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve drainage, and improve long-term pavement conditions on SR 91 between Brandywine and Middleton Road.

When

The project construction is anticipated to last two construction seasons and finish in the summer of 2021.

Impacts

The contractor will be required to maintain two-way traffic along SR 91 at all times during construction, but delays can be expected.
