Current Status

The City is currently analyzing alternative trail alignments.

  • Survey work is being concluded along Valley View Rd, from the Darrow Rd intersection to Hunting Hollow Dr.
  • The City gathered information from the Hunting Hollow Drive residents and it was determined that the residents would prefer to have the proposed trail alignment run down the existing asphalt road with pavement markings and signs.
  • Trail alignments for W. Prospect St. intersection to Hines Hill Rd. are currently being investigated.

Hunting Hollow Drive

A portion of Veterans Trail connecting Valley View Road and Prospect Street will utilize Hunting Hollow Drive. The City is currently seeking the Hunting Hollow Drive residents’ input on the proposed trail alignment. Three possible alignments along Hunting Hollow Drive were provided to the residents. A form was included for them to select their preferred option and return for use in the City’s analysis. Click here to view the Trail Options Letter mailed on August 9, 2017.

Veterans Trail Phase 2 Concept Plan

Hunting Hollow Trail Three Options:

  • Option 1 is a 10-ft wide sidewalk along Hunting Hollow Drive. The path would be located on the south side of the road, within the City’s right-of-way.
  • Option 2 is a 12-ft wide asphalt path. This option would be located in the Ohio Edison easement behind the homes along the turnpike.
  • Option 3 is to add “Share the Road” signs in both directions along Hunting Hollow Drive. “No Parking” signage along the north side of the road will be considered.
