There are so many fun things planned for the Fire Safety Open House on Sunday, October 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hudson Safety Center. Not only will you learn about fire safety, but weather safety as well!
Channel 3 meteorologist Michael Estime will teach severe weather safety with the assistance of the W.A.M. van. W.A.M. is WKYC's Weather Advance Mobile unit that covers breaking weather and educates on how weather and technology goes together. Inside the van is a complete weather station and the ability to broadcast live from almost anywhere in NE Ohio.
The Hudson Fire Department will also be teaching tornado safety using the Fire Safety House trailer. With the simulation of lightning, thunder, a power outage, tornado sirens, and more, our firefighters will explain what to do when there is a tornado, including listening to the weather radio and where to take shelter.
Bring the family so you can learn the best ways to prepare for severe weather together. Stay tuned for what else is in store for the open house.
