Hudson Public Power (HPP) customers have been receiving calls from scammers claiming the customer has a discrepancy in their electric service account and threatening to shut off service unless immediate payment is made. They do not identify what entity they are with. These calls are not from the City of Hudson. If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.
When legitimately contacted by the City of Hudson regarding an HPP account, City staff will state that they are with the City of Hudson Utility Billing Department. If an account is in default or service will be shut off, notices are sent via mail. If you are still unsure if a call like this is legitimate, please call the City of Hudson Utility Billing Department at 330-342-1710 to see if you were contacted by City staff. They would be happy to check your account for you as well.
