The bridge on SR 91/Darrow Road over the bike trail has been replaced with an arch culvert. Darrow Road now has two lanes, northbound and southbound, and a left turn lane for southbound traffic at Fishcreek Road. Fishcreek Road has been reconstructed with new curbs and a future turn lane to southbound Darrow Road. Construction work will continue on both roadways which will require temporary lane restrictions. The final wearing surface will be placed next summer.
Signalization of Fishcreek Road/Darrow Road intersection will begin mid December. Once the signals are operational, the temporary signal at the Shoppes of Stow and Brueggers Bagels will be removed.
The bike trail will be partially opened on a limestone base by late December for the winter and spring. However, additional work such as sealing, painting, and grouting the culvert along with placing the asphalt base and surface will take place when it is warmer in late spring and summer. Temporary closures of the bike trail will be needed at that time.
Starting early December, storm sewer work will begin on Norton Road east of S.R. 91. This may require daily temporary lane restrictions. Winter work will be weather dependent.
Please view the Summit County Metro Parks website for bike trail updates and alternative routes.
