The City of Hudson will host a Public Open House for the Downtown Phase II Implementation Process on Thursday, February 23, at 7:00 PM at Barlow Community Center. This public meeting will be an opportunity to meet the City’s selected development partner, Testa Companies, for the Downtown Phase II redevelopment project.
The recently adopted 2016 Hudson Comprehensive Plan includes a conceptual redevelopment plan for Downtown Phase II. The plan is intended to build on the success of the First & Main development by redeveloping underutilized land with a mixture of new office and residential development. The City of Hudson has entered into a partnership with Testa Companies to advance the conceptual plan into a development proposal. As part of this project, the City and Testa are also partnering to engage the community at the early stages of the development process to ensure the best outcome for all parties.
The open house will begin with a brief presentation by the City and Development Team and will also include informative discussion stations where participants can ask questions and share their thoughts about the future of the Downtown Phase II area. These discussions will help the Development Team understand the community’s concerns and priorities as it works with the City to create a development plan.
Participants will learn about the planning that has already been completed for this area, steps the City is taking to prepare the site for development, the developer’s preliminary objectives for the project, and the anticipated timeline for the development process. This will be the first of two public open houses scheduled over the next two months – development concepts will be shared at the second meeting, expected to be held in late March.
