The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 29. The parade will form on Milford Road and go east on SR 303 to SR 91 heading north to Markillie Cemetery where a brief service will be held. The public is encouraged to attend the parade and service to pay tribute to our military that have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us and our country, and to thank all of those that have served or are serving our country today. The event is sponsored and organized by the American Legion.
Important Information:
The parade route will remain the same despite construction at North Main Street downtown and at the Prospect Street intersection. The contractors will make the areas as safe and clean as possible prior to the parade. The sidewalk on the west side of North Main Street between Clinton Street and Owen Brown Street will be open, but we encourage folks to sit on the east side of North Main Street in this area. In both areas, please be cautious and respect all fenced off areas as they are fenced off for the safety of spectators. All other spectator areas will be fully open, and it is encouraged to utilize these areas first. Parade viewing areas are also available all along N. Main Street up to Markillie Cemetery. Thank you for your cooperation, enjoy the event, and shop local.
