A Hudson Public Power crew and trucks are on their way to Florida to help put the power back on after Hurricane Irma. As part of American Municipal Power (AMP) and the American Public Power Association, Hudson is one of many municipal power crews heading south ready to enter Florida when the hurricane subsides.
The Hudson crew will stage in Birmingham, Alabama, with a tentative destination of Clewiston Florida which is near Lake Okeechobee in the center of the state between Fort Myers and West Palm Beach. Their actual Florida location assignment will be confirmed once we know the damage from Hurricane Irma.
As part of AMP, Hudson Public Power is one of many cities that respond regularly to restore power in entire communities after hurricanes.
