Do you have a plan in place for when severe weather hits? Knowing what to do before, during, and after an emergency can make all the difference when seconds count. Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 18-24, and is the perfect time to prepare severe weather plans with your family. Watch the video below to learn what to do in the event of severe weather.
The most important thing to do to prepare for severe weather is to make sure you have several forms of notifications set up in case one fails. Sign up for Hudson's CodeRed and Emergency Alert Notification systems to receive emails or texts in the event of severe weather; sign up for the Summit County Emergency Notification system; sign up/download the FEMA app on your phone; and sign up for alerts on your favorite weather app. The City may also post severe weather information on its social media channels. It is also important to have a battery powered weather radio on hand in case the electricity goes out. Watch the video below to learn more about each notification system, and visit Hudson's Emergency Preparedness page.
