The Hudson Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) is pleased to announce the 2018 Green on the Green Environmental Expo will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Green in front of Town Hall, 27 E. Main Street, Hudson. The event, held in conjunction with the Hudson Farmer’s Market, is free and open to the public.
Green on the Green is a fun, educational event featuring exhibitors from across the region offering information on everything from solar panels, energy efficiency, and green home products, to tree planting, recycling tips, composting, rain barrels, and organic landscaping.
In addition to a rain barrel workshop and raffle for a custom-painted rain barrel, free document shredding from All Shreds, sponsored by Merrill Lynch of Hudson, will be available from 9 a. m.-12 noon. e-Waste will be on hand to accept unwanted electronics, including computers, tablets, printers, cordless phones, cell phones, chargers, stereos, CD, DVD and VHS players, and more. Televisions will not be accepted but can be dropped off at the e-Waste Hudson location.
Walk, run, or bike to Green on the Green to learn why going green isn't just for Earth Day - it’s for every day!
The Hudson Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) serves to educate and advise residents on environmental issues, such as recycling, storm water, beautification, stream and wetlands clean-up and water and energy efficiency. The EAC is the Hudson affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and partners with community organizations such as the Taste of Hudson and the Hudson Farmer’s Market on environmental education. Educational efforts on storm water include a rain garden at Barlow Community Center, rain barrel art program, and rain barrel workshops. The Green on the Green Environmental Expo is held every two years.
