Hudson Ward 2 Councilman Casey Weinstein has submitted his resignation from City Council, effective December 31, 2018. Councilman Weinstein has been elected to the Ohio House, making him ineligible to continue serving as the Ward 2 representative.
Council Weinstein served on Hudson City Council for three years and lives in Hudson with his wife and two children. We wish Councilman Weinstein the best on his journey to the Ohio State House and thank him for his dedication to Hudson and its citizens.
Hudson City Council is accepting applications for the Ward 2 Council position until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018. Applicants must be a Hudson resident for at least two years, be a registered voter, live in Ward 2 and continue to reside in Ward 2 through the duration of their term.
Council will review the applications and appoint an individual who will serve until the November 2019 general election in which the appointee may run for their elected ward seat. It is preferred that applicants will be willing to run for the the Ward 2 seat in November 2019.
