[ARCHIVED] Ellsworth Meadows Golf Pro Receives Prestigious Award

Greg Andrego Ellsworth Meadows

Greg Andrego, Golf Course Pro at the City’s Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club, recently received the Northern Ohio Section of the Professional Golf Association’s Youth Player Development Award for 2018.

This PGA Junior Golf Leader Award recognized the PGA professional who is a leader in junior golf and who reflects the ideals of those who work with youth, such as involvement in the promotion and development of junior golf at the club level, and support of National junior golf programs. It also recognizes proven interest, concern, and the ability to provide opportunities and experience for juniors to learn and play golf.

Greg is the head golf professional at the City-owned and operated Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club. A former college baseball standout at Baldwin-Wallace University (Class of ’94), Greg started his golf career as the assistant manager of Boston Hills Golf Course in 1994. He earned his PGA Class A certification in 2000. Greg provides quality instruction to golfers at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club through both private lessons and clinics.

Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club

Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club, considered by many to be one of the finest public courses in Ohio, is a beautifully manicured 18-hole course that is challenging to all skill levels. With its strategically placed bunkers, water hazards and picturesque fairways, the course was named one of the top 12 golf courses in Northeast Ohio by Crain's Cleveland Business magazine and ranked in GolfStyles magazine as one of the top 100 best courses in Ohio. Conveniently located between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio, Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club is the perfect place for a golf outing or event, with its undulating greens, pro shop, snack bar, cart rentals, and banquet and catering facilities. The course is open year-round, weather permitting. Booking tee times in advance is recommended from April through October.
