Leaf collection is approximately a week and a half to two weeks behind due to our lovely Ohio weather. Leaf crews are currently continuing the final leaf collection in the Northeast and Southwest quadrants. Crews are hoping to finish up the Southwest quadrant late Tuesday (12/4), and hope to finish up the Northeast quadrant later this week.
Final collection for the Northwest and Southeast quadrants has NOT begun yet. Once the Northeast and Southwest quadrants are complete, collection will begin in the Northwest and Southeast quadrants. We thank you for you continued patience as the weather does not look promising for the next couple weeks to allow speedy pickup. It is estimated that pickup in these quadrants could take 7-10 days.
Please understand that leaves that are wet and heavy are much more difficult for our equipment to handle and significantly slow down how quickly our crews can collect leaves. In addition, when a snow event occurs the same crews and trucks that pick up leaves must swap out their leaf vacuums for snow plows. If any leaf vacuums are left to continue pickup, the snow and ice cause leaf machine parts to ice over and require regular de-icing while bringing progress to a crawl.
Our crews are working diligently despite the slowdowns to collect your leaves. Thank you for your patience.
