Council to Hold Public Hearing 8/20 for Administrative Changes to LDC

Notice of Public Hearing (3)

On Tuesday, August 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, Hudson City Council will hold a public hearing for citizen input on the proposed administrative changes to the Land Development Code (LDC). As directed by Council, the proposed changes are administrative in nature to clarify, update, or revise to support legal interpretations in existing regulations without proposing substantive changes to the Code.

In addition to administrative updates, Council directed staff to revise the current A-Frame sign regulations to allow for A-Frames in front of businesses. A-Frames are not allowed in the current LDC. Recommendations include limiting the number of A-Frame signs, sign size, and sign placement, among others.

Council determined that review of Commercial and Business Land Uses and Residential Land Uses would be considered later as part of a separate request from City Council.

Three readings have been conducted on the proposed amendment (June 19, 2018 and April 2 and 16, 2019). Council has formally postponed action to September 3, 2019 to allow for the public hearing on August 20. Council will discuss the legislation at a Workshop on August 27 and is scheduled to act on the item on September 3.
