Council Discusses Initiatives and Priorities in Strategic Planning Session

Council Update

HUDSON, OH (February 12, 2020) – Last night, Hudson City Council held a strategic planning session designed to identify initiatives and set priorities for the coming years. Strategic planning is a guide for the future and ensures the City is spending money and allocating resources towards priorities that will best serve the Hudson community.

City Council established that their vision for Hudson over the next five years is to be a fiscally sound, connected, and collaborative community with great schools, solid infrastructure, a high quality of life, a historic feel, and a vibrant downtown.

Council discussed 11 major topics including roads, infrastructure, parks and amenities, municipal facilities, economic development, connectivity, technology, downtown Hudson, communications, review of codes, and financial sustainability. The topics were then narrowed down and prioritized. The following were selected as priorities to focus on in the coming months:

  • Connectivity
  • Economic Development
  • Communications
  • Infrastructure
  • Please Note: Roads have already been determined a priority, and Council will continue to aggressively fund the planned Accelerated Road Program.

The priorities selected will be reviewed by staff. Council will then be provided with ways to expand and further these priorities. The subjects of connectivity and infrastructure will appear on the February 25 Council Workshop agenda for discussion. The other 11 major topics mentioned above will be coming up in future agendas and discussions.
