HUDSON, OH (March 23, 2020) – With the Governor’s order to close non-essential businesses, the City of Hudson is continuing to provide critical services to our citizens. While our offices are closed to the public, you can still contact us online or by phone.  Here’s what the City is doing to keep our services running.

Hudson Water: The water plant staff is practicing social distancing and working in isolation as much as possible to protect the health and safety of our staff.  The water plant is cleaned daily, but even greater measures have been instituted to keep the staff safe with this pandemic. The City can assist other water systems and can receive assistance from various water systems in the area should the need arise. We also can utilize the statewide mutual aid system called Ohio WARN.  All in person meetings with citizens have been canceled, but we will continue to perform work outside as needed.

Hudson Public Power: We are minimizing the number of employees in our offices and are using social distancing to help protect the health and safety of staff. As part of American Municipal Power (AMP) we have additional resources in place to call upon should the need arise. We have canceled in person meetings with citizens but will continue to keep the power running in Hudson.

Pay Utility Bills: You can pay your Hudson water or Hudson Public Power bills online by visiting the Utilities page, or you can drop off your payment in the drop box located at the City Hall entrance on Terex Road. Utility shutoffs have been suspended.

Public Works: The Hudson Public Works Department staff is continuing to provide urgent and emergency services.  Contact 330-342-1750 for the following services:

  • Street safety issues/emergencies
  • Public Properties/downtown/parks questions
  • Storm water problems/ issues
  • Water service issues/main breaks
  • Arborist Service Emergencies

Police/Fire/EMS: We are fully staffed and prepared to answer emergency calls as needed. For non-emergency situations, call 330-342-1800 and we will take as much information as possible by phone.  Do not come to our safety center or police station unless it is an emergency.  Please don’t call 911 if you think you have COVID-19 and have mild or no symptoms. Contact your doctor rather than using 911. Call 911 only for emergencies such as trouble breathing, chest pains, strokes, or other issues that need immediate emergency care. Finger-printing services, as well as the prescription drop-box have been suspended at this time.

Planning and Zoning: You still can obtain permits for home renovations or construction through our website or by calling or emailing Community Development. To apply for a zoning or development permit, visit the Zoning page. Please contact staff for any assistance we can provide at (330) 342-1790 or cd@hudson.oh.us.

Engineering Permits: You can still obtain engineering right-of-way permits and work with our engineering department by calling 330-342-1770 or emailing engineering@hudson.oh.us.
