[ARCHIVED] Aluminum Can Recycling at ACE Hardware Temporarily Suspended

Aluminum Can Recycling

Based on a decision by the Summit County Public Health Department that collection of aluminum cans at the recycling bin at ACE Hardware would put the private hauler’s employees at undue risk during the coronavirus outbreak, the hauler has temporarily suspended the collection of aluminum cans at this site.

The popular aluminum can recycling program is a partnership between ACE Hardware and the hauler that provides volunteer pickup service for Akron Children’s Hospital. We applaud residents’ efforts to recycle and realize that the COVID-19 crisis has significantly impacted the recycling industry nationwide. While this is a temporary inconvenience, we hope this program and all other recycling efforts can resume after the coronavirus risk passes. We encourage you to keep your cans to recycle once collection resumes.
