City Council Calls for Special Election to Fill Open At-Large Council Seat

City Council Update

At the May 19 Council meeting, Hudson City Council was unable to make an appointment to fill Dr. Williams’ At-Large Council position. Council unanimously approved a motion directing staff to prepare a Resolution for action at the June 2, 2020 meeting, calling for a Special Election to be held concurrently with the regular General Election on November 3, 2020 to fill the vacant Council seat for the duration of its unexpired term. The Resolution calling for the Special Election passed at the June 2, 2020 Council meeting.

In accordance with Charter Section 3.11, candidates must file petitions with the Board of Elections no later than September 4, 2020, 60 days prior to the Special Election date.
