[ARCHIVED] Council Authorizes Temporary Licenses for Outdoor Sales

Outdoor Dining

HUDSON, OH (June 24, 2020) – At the June 24 Special Meeting, Hudson City Council approved the establishment of a temporary outdoor-use program for restaurants and retail establishments to allow for outdoor sales and dining to accommodate the social distance requirements necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council recognizes the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis on restaurants and retail operations in Hudson. This legislation supplements outdoor dining legislation previously approved that permits outdoor dining on public property, such as sidewalks. This legislation allows restaurants to obtain a temporary permit to provide outdoor dining on their own private property and allows merchants to apply for permits to hold outside sales while the COVID-19 restrictions are in place.

Through this program, the City Manager is authorized to establish and implement a temporary permit program to allow outdoor retail and restaurant use. The program will be in effect through October 15, 2020 or until the Governor of the State of Ohio lifts the COVID-19 state of emergency, whichever occurs first.

Restaurants and retail stores interested in obtaining a temporary outdoor sale permit should contact the Hudson Community Development Department at 330-342-1790.
