HUDSON, OH (July 23, 2020) –Hudson City Council is considering the sale of City-owned property on Boston Mills Road. At Tuesday’s meeting, there was a first reading of legislation that would authorize entering into a purchase and sale agreement with Fleet HQ Partners, LLC for approximately 45 acres of land located at W. Executive Parkway and Boston Mills Road. The property was purchased by the City through the Summit County Land Bank. The City purchased the land in 2018 for $70,800 and is selling it for $1,100,000.
The sale price, which is significantly higher than the purchase price, will bring new jobs to the community and put the property back on the tax rolls. Fleet HQ Partners, LLC plans to develop the currently vacant property which, in turn, will provide an economic development benefit to the City of Hudson.
The property was originally purchased in 2018 as part of the Summit County Land Re-utilization Corporation (Land Bank) program. The Land Bank purchases severely delinquent parcels of land, cleans up any liens or title issues with the property, and sells them to the local municipality to encourage better use and revitalization of these neglected properties.
A second reading will take place at a Special Council Meeting on July 28, thus ensuring three readings (for the public’s notice) while being sensitive to the project timeline.
