A resident reported their alarm system was triggered by two unknown suspects who made entry into the home through an unlocked door. Nothing was taken from home as the individuals fled after alarm system went off. Officers searched area on foot and in vehicles, including using a canine unit. HPD officers later located the suspects in a vehicle and they were taken into custody.

The two suspects, a 24-year-old North Canton man and a 25-year-old man from Kent, were arrested for burglary and subsequently admitted to their involvement in this incident, as well as to trespassing and attempting to steal items from several vehicles in the neighborhood. Both were charged with Burglary/F2 and were transported to the Summit County Jail and released on bond. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled at Stow Municipal Court on August 9, 2020.

“I am pleased with the good police work that led to these arrests,” said Hudson Police Chief Perry Tabak. “Please remember to always lock your home and vehicle doors, keep valuables stored in vehicles out of sight, and immediately contact the Hudson Police Department at (330) 342-1800 in the event you observe anything suspicious occurring in your neighborhood.”
