[ARCHIVED] Celebrate the Holidays Safely in Hudson

Santa mailbox

Though the holidays and our usual Hudson events are looking a little different this year, our outstanding Hudson community organizations, groups, merchants, and more have made it possible to continue many holiday events safely. A few regular events decided to postpone until next year, and we look forward to attending then! The rest have worked extensively to meet the COVID-19 safety requirements. We ask that when you attend any holiday events that you adhere to all social distancing requirements (stay 6 feet away from others not from your own household) and wear a mask. Please follow any additional safety requirements that are posted by each event, and stay home if you are sick. This way we can all have a fun and safe holiday season!

Please note that though the City of Hudson helps coordinate City services for many events and administers permits for events on public property, all events are run by community organizations, businesses, or groups. Below is a compilation of these events coming up in Hudson.

Fairy Door Holiday Treats
December 1 – December 20
Participating Downtown Merchants

The Hudson fairies are ready for the holidays! They’ve been decorating their doorsteps with candy canes, so if you spot one, stop in the store to grab a treat during business hours! Visit the Fairy Door map to guide your search here.

Bring your family for a Christmas scavenger hunt and holiday cheer! We will have over 20 Christmas trees decorated by local vendors for your little ones to explore and enjoy. Each tree will have something to find on the scavenger hunt, so be sure to keep your eyes open! Please wear masks and be mindful of social distancing. Full event info...

Holiday Fireworks & Firecracker Specials
Saturday, December 5
6 p.m.
Downtown Hudson
Please watch from your car or at home!

Merchants will have “Firecracker Specials” all day long December 5, with the day culminating at 6 p.m. with a short 10-minute, completely aerial, fireworks display, courtesy of American Fireworks.

Veteran’s Way will be closed to cars and pedestrians and the fireworks will be set off at one of the highest points.  Many residents will be able to see the fireworks from their homes, and parking lots all over town will be great spots to watch.

The Sorgi family of American Fireworks hopes that people will don their masks, come down during the day to support our Hudson merchants, grab some takeout, and enjoy the show.

For the past 18 years, First Congregational Church of Hudson has proudly hosted a Live Nativity on the first Sunday of December. This year, that tradition will continue, but with some changes to ensure all participants are safe amidst the global pandemic. The community is invited to view the Live Nativity in the church’s front lawn at 47 Aurora Street in Hudson. To ensure physical distancing and the safety of all involved, new procedures have been put into place this year. Visit the First Congregational Church website for full details.
