How to Park Your Boat or RV

RV and Boat Storage

We want to help you be in compliance with the City of Hudson's Land Development Code Standards when parking your boat or RV. Here's how!

What is a recreational vehicle and equipment?

Recreational vehicle and equipment include but are not limited to:

  • Travel trailers, truck campers, camping trailers, or self-propelled motor homes.
  • Boats, boat trailers, small jet powered boats ridden by straddling a seat, and snowmobiles and their trailers.

Long-Term Storage

Beyond the three day allowance per month, recreational vehicles must be stored off property UNLESS they are:

  • Parked or stored within an enclosed structure
  • OR
  • Long term outside parking if all the following can be met:
    • The vehicle may be parked no closer to the street than the front wall of the dwelling.
    • Screening material of sufficient density must be in place to obscure the vehicle from adjacent dwelling and streets.
    • The vehicle must be at least three feet back from any property line.
    • Only one vehicle may be parked.

Short-Term Storage

We understand that sometimes your boat, recreational vehicles, and trailers need to be loaded, unloaded, cleaned and repaired. Just remember that these vehicles are only permitted at a residence for up to THREE calendar days per month for these purposes.

See below for the basic dos and don'ts when parking a boat or RV.
