Following is a summary of Tuesday’s City Council Workshop. To watch the full meeting, visit www.hudson.oh.us/WatchMeetings.
• The proposed Metro RTA Reimagine Plan would essentially eliminate all bus shelters in Hudson except for the stops on SR 91 from Stow to Twinsburg Township. As a result, the City is pausing the plan for additional bus shelters. Staff will write a letter of opposition to Metro RTA. Citizens are encouraged to fill out the RTA survey opposing the plan that would make it difficult for employers like Little Tikes, Allstate and JoAnn’s to recruit workers who rely on public transportation as well as make it challenging for Hudson citizens who use public transportation to get to other cities, such as Akron. The survey is available at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZLG6LBM.
• Middleton Road / Stow Road Sidewalk Project. Representatives from TranSystems presented the proposed alignment of the new sidewalk along Middleton Road (Valley View Road to High Point Park) and Stow Road (Middleton Road to the Twinsburg Twp. Corp. line). The City will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Hudson City Hall, lower level, 1140 Terex Road, Hudson, Ohio from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. City staff and representatives from the consultant TranSystems will be available to answer resident questions at the meeting. Residents who can’t make the meeting can provide their comments on the plan at: https://LetsTalk.Hudson.oh.us.
• 2020 Census Update / Hudson Council Ward Distribution. City administration updated City Council on the new 2020 U.S. Census data and population changes to the City Council Wards. Per the City Charter, Hudson has one year to complete the redistricting.
• Preliminary 2022 - 2026 Five-Year Plan Review. Staff presented 2022-2026 Five Year Plan Capital for Cemeteries, Parks, Fire, EMS, Water, Electric, Velocity, HCTV, and Fleet.
