City Council is currently accepting applications for openings on the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, Cemetery Board, the HCTV Advisory Committee, and Planning Commission. Board of Zoning and Building Appeals
The Board of Zoning and Building Appeals acts on requests for variances from zoning regulations and on certain appeals from the Architectural and Historic Board of Review, Planning Commission, and administrative decisions. The Architectural and Historic Board of Review, Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, and Planning Commission work together, as necessary, for all building and zoning projects.
Cemetery Board
The Hudson Cemetery Board advises the City on matters regarding the city cemeteries.
Hudson Community Television Advisory Committee
The Hudson Community Television Advisory Committee was established to assist the station managers in defining goals and objectives of public, educational, and governmental access to cable television and to explore funding sources for programs.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission acts on commercial and industrial site plans, conditional uses, and subdivisions of land. It makes recommendations to Council concerning amendments to the zoning code and zoning map, the Growth Management Allocation systems, and the Comprehensive Plan. The Architectural and Historic Board of Review, Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, and Planning Commission work together, as necessary, for all building and zoning projects.
How to Apply
To apply for an opening, please complete the online Boards and Commissions Application. Alternatively, residents may print and fill out an application and return it to the Clerk of Council at City Hall, 1140 Terex Road, Hudson, OH 44236.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, February 10 by 4:30 p.m. To qualify, applicants must have been a Hudson resident for at least two years prior to the appointment and remain a resident during the entire term. Only registered voters will be considered for the openings. For this round of Planning Commission appointments, applicants must reside in Ward 1.
