Council Comments

  • A Council member mentioned they received an email from a resident in support of an off-leash dog park in Hudson. Another Council member had seen some support for this subject too and mentioned there is now a Let’s Talk Hudson site for residents to leave feedback about the current proposal of turning the existing dog run into a wildflower meadow.
  • The Architectural and Historic Board of Review met last week and approved a sign for a bubble tea shop that is moving to Hudson.
  • A Council member thanked Jane Howington for her time serving as City Manager and wished her the best of luck.
  • A Council member spoke about the selection process for a new Mayor. Council received many more applications than anticipated. Fifteen applicants meet the submission requirements. Two did not meet the length of residency requirement. A list of the applicants will be put out to Council. Each Council member will choose six names and send to the Clerk of Council to tally. Any applicant whose name was mentioned three or more times will be interviewed. A Special Meeting will be added to April 12 before the regularly scheduled Workshop to appoint a new Mayor before the April 14 deadline.

Report of the Manager

  • The City Manager mentioned the Downtown Pedestrian Safety Public Input Meeting on Wednesday, March 16 at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Community Rooms.

Consent Agenda

  • A motion to appoint Thomas J. Sheridan to Interim City Manager effective March 18, 2022 at 5:01 p.m.
  • A motion to acknowledge the timely receipt of the February 2022 Monthly Financial Report.
  • Resolution to advertise for bids and enter a contract for the 2022 Sidewalk Improvement Projects.
  • Resolution affirming the application submitted to the Ohio Department of Public Safety for an EMS Priority One Training and Equipment grant for Hudson EMS.
  • Resolution amending a previous resolution that allowed for the purchase of a bucket truck to instead allow for the purchase of a digger derrick truck.
  • Resolution requesting additional funds for more salt and piling services to refill the salt domes. This amends the previously approved resolution as the amount of money to refill the salt domes exceeds the amount previously authorized.
  • Resolution regarding the City’s intent to appropriate a temporary easement at 5874 Darrow Road to allow for the SR 91 South Widening Project.
  • Resolution to approve a then and now certificate.

There will be a special meeting on Tuesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. to approve the above consent agenda items due to a procedural error.
