Fall will be a busy construction season as the City moves forward with three key projects. Here is what’s ahead this fall.
Veteran’s Trail Phase 3
The trail starts at Cascade Park/Milford Road and continues south through Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club to Barlow Road. The project has been re-designed with the Park Board and additional resident input prior to construction. Design is complete and includes new 8-foot-wide gravel trail, local storm water drainage improvements, new pedestrian bridge in Cascade Park and on-road path via Lynn Rd, E. Case and Milford, and traffic calming feature on Milford Road. Construction began in August and will last through the fall, 2022.
Middleton and Stow Traffic Signal
Design of the project is nearly complete, and the project will be re-bid due to bids coming in 10% over the engineer’s estimate. Right of way will be acquired for the placement of the new signal poles, new sidewalk, and future widening of the intersection. Construction is scheduled for the fall, 2022. While traffic will be maintained, delays may occur during construction.
S. Main Street Widening
The City was awarded Ohio Safety Funds and Congestive Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) for the installation of a center turn lane, drainage improvements, pedestrian connectivity, crosswalk, and signal enhancements, resurfacing and widening and other improvements. The project design is complete and includes the addition of a two-way, left-turn lane, two 5-foot bike lanes, sidewalks on both sides of road, street lighting and storm sewer improvements. Construction is scheduled for fall through next spring. Traffic will be maintained throughout the project, although delays may occur during construction.
