[ARCHIVED] Turnpike Commission Announces Detours for Weekend of September 23 and 30

Turnpike SR 303 Detour Clipped Map

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission will be resurfacing interchange 187. The resurfacing of the interchange of SR 14 and the Turnpike is scheduled to take place on the weekends of September 23 and 30, between Friday at 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday. At 6 a.m. on Monday, the ramps will be opened to traffic.

During this operation, detours for the interchange will be posted. The Turnpike has posted the following detours on September 23 and a tentative date of September 30. According to the Turnpike Commission, the detours mentioned above will NOT be in place at the same time.

  1. The planned detour for I-480/SR 14 eastbound traffic is as follows; the traffic exiting the turnpike wanting to go I-480/SR 14 eastbound will be directed to go to Frost Rd interchange and then be directed back around through the interchange to I-480/SR 14 eastbound (it should be exit 42). Traffic wanting to enter the turnpike from I-480/SR 14 eastbound will be directed down to SR 303. At SR 303, if they want to continue to access the turnpike eastbound, they will be directed to go to eastbound on SR 303 to Ravenna Rd, then to turnpike interchange 193.  At SR 303, if they want to access the turnpike westbound, they will be directed to go westbound on SR 303 to SR 8, then north on SR 8 to the turnpike interchange 180.
  1. The planned detour for the turnpike westbound ramps is as follows; for westbound turnpike traffic wanting to exit at exit 187, the traffic will be directed to exit at interchange 193 and travel south on Ravenna Rd to SR 303. At SR 303 traffic will be directed to travel west on SR 303 to SR 14/I-480 westbound. For traffic wanting to enter the turnpike going westbound from I-480/SR 14 eastbound, traffic will be directed to travel SR 14 to SR 303. Traffic will then be directed to travel SR 303 westbound to SR 8 and then take SR 8 north to turnpike interchange 180.
