During Thanksgiving week, Hudson Fire Department members, Hudson City Schools employees, and volunteers helped distribute items from the Annual Holiday Sharing Distribution to 100 Hudson families and senior citizens in need. Each family received a $100 Giant Eagle gift card, a $60 ACME gift card, a complete turkey dinner, several boxes of food, and one large shopping bag of paper and miscellaneous products. Hudson City Schools collected and organized the food for distribution.
The Giant Eagle gift cards were purchased with donations from City of Hudson employees, Hudson Fire Department members and volunteers, the Hudson Fire Department Association, and Giant Eagle. More than four times the amount of donations came in for these this year, allowing each family to receive $100 gift cards over the $25 they received each of the last 10 years! The ACME gift cards were purchased by Hudson City Schools. Hudson students and families donated the non-perishable food and hygiene items. The turkey dinner totes were supplied by Christ Community Chapel. Other donations were collected by Hudson PTO and the Hudson Ministerial Association collected laundry detergent for all. The families were grateful for these generous donations that allowed them to have a memorable Thanksgiving.
