Public Comments
- A number of individuals spoke against Council’s legislation that was on last week’s agenda regarding the City Manager. The legislation was not voted on or discussed by Council at that meeting.
- One individual asked why Council is not using the room in the new City Hall for Council meetings since the Town Hall Council Chamber was standing room only at the last meeting and uncomfortable for attendees.
- Several individuals asked Council to consider a Mayor candidate who will bring Hudson together.
Council Comments
- Council members discussed the vitriol that appeared on social media after the Mayor’s comments at the Council Workshop and asked the people be kinder to each other, without attacks.
- Council members read several letters in support of the City Manager and against any plans to remove her.
City Manager’s Report
Appointments
- No appointments. The Council President announced that the City will be accepting applications for the position of Mayor. Applications will be accepted online through March 11. Council plans to bring the top candidates in for interviews. The Mayor would be appointed to serve until the November General Election per the City Charter. The position is not a full-time position.
Consent Agenda
The following consent agenda items were passed by Council. Passed 6-0.
- A motion to acknowledge the timely receipt of the January 2022 Monthly Financial Report.
- Resolution authorizing entering a professional services contract with Ciuni & Panichi, Inc. for preparation of the City’s 2021 Annual Financial Statements.
- Resolution amending Resolution No. 21-27 and authorizing to advertise for bids and enter contracts for the Barlow Community Center Dam Improvements Project.
- Resolution to enter into an amendment to an agreement with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District for funding assistance for the Barlow Community Center Dam Improvements Project.
- Resolution to apply for funds, and if selected, enter an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the Safe Routes to School Travel Plan Project.
- Resolution to approve Then and Now Certificates.
Legislation
- Ordinance accepting for public right-of-way dedication permanent tax parcel adjacent to the existing Park Lane Public right-of-way. Second Reading.
- Resolution to enter a two-year agreement with FLOCK Group for an automatic license plate reading system. Second Reading.
- Ordinance pursuant to Section 3.01 of the City Charter amending the Ward Boundaries of the City in response to receipt of the US Census Data in 2020. First Reading.
- Ordinance establishing an interconnection policy for connection of residential and/or commercial solar power generation systems to the City of Hudson’s Power Grid. First Reading.
- Ordinance repealing current Chapter 226 “Campaign Finance Reform” of the Codified Ordinances and enacting new Chapter 226 “Campaign Contribution Limits.” First Reading.
- Resolution to enter a purchase and sale agreement with the Hudson Community Living Company for a portion of the City-owned property on South Oviatt Street. First Reading.
Executive Session
- Council entered executive session to consider confidential information related to the specific business strategy of an applicant for economic development assistance provided under Chapter 715 of the Ohio Revised Code.
