Following the Norfolk Southern Train Derailment that spilled toxic chemicals in East Palestine, Ohio, questions were raised about the impact to the water in Hudson. Although the Ohio EPA and the Summit County Public Health Department stated there was no impact to Hudson based on the incident, the City performed water testing on its wells as a precautionary measure and for peace of mind.
The test on the sample taken February 23, 2023 indicated that no contaminants were detected in the water. This is a test that the Environmental Protection Agency runs each year on Hudson's wellfield, which means we have years of data showing no change in the levels.
