The City has appointed John P. Kolesar as Hudson City Solicitor. Kolesar was appointed as Judge to the County Court in Clyde (Sandusky County) on March 23, 2009, was elected in 2010 to the unexpired term, and was re-elected in 2012 and 2018. As Judge, Kolesar established two specialized dockets in his court – OVI Court in 2010 and Drug Court in 2014 and has served as a member of the Supreme Court’s Commission on Specialized Dockets since 2015.
Previously, Kolesar served as an assistant prosecutor in Sandusky and Seneca counties, prosecuting felony offenses and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Seneca County. He engaged in the private practice of law in Dayton for several years. As an attorney, he has tried more than 50 cases to jury verdict and appeared in numerous appellate cases - he briefed, argued, and won his only case in the Supreme Court of Ohio. He received his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and his B.S. from Drexel University. Kolesar is also admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York.
He currently lives in Clyde with his wife Jacqueline and 6-year-old son, Ernie, and is planning to relocate to the area in the near future.
