Pack the Pond is back! Join the Friends of Hudson Parks and Kent State University Recreation Department for our annual Pack the Pond celebration at Hudson Springs Park. The entire community is invited to this family-friendly, end-of-summer event on Monday, August 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Participants will be able to try out kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards for free. If you are interested in trying out one of the water crafts, we ask that you preregister with KSU RecWell, using the links provided on our website, https://www.friendsofhudsonparks.org/pack-the-pond/. Other activities for the entire family include a cookout, geocaching demonstrations and more.
Enter our raffle where one lucky participant will win a Pelican Mustang 100X Kayak complete with paddle and life vest. Additional prizes will be provided by our local Hudson merchants! Raffle tickets ($5 each or 5 for $20) may be purchased at Destination Hudson before August 5th, or at the event with the drawing to be held at 7:30 p.m. at the May Pavilion.
Local geocaching experts, the “Muddy Dawgs,” will be available to answer questions about geocaching throughout the evening. They also will feature information about the current Geocaching Adventure sponsored by the Friends.
The Friends of Hudson Parks will provide free food and drinks for attendees.
In the event of extreme weather, the rain date is Thursday, August 10.
