The Hudson Police Department (HPD) will be collecting unused and expired prescription medications on Saturday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ACME as part of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
In addition to Take Back Day, there are opportunities to dispose of unneeded medications at the HPD’s Prescription Medication Drop Box on the left side of the building upon entrance.
Events like Take Back Day are vital to keeping communities safe as old and unwanted medications left in homes often become a gateway to addiction. Most opioid addictions start with prescription pills found in medicine cabinets. Additionally, many people who misuse medications obtained them from a family member or friend.
