HUDSON, OH (April 20, 2012) – Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club has applied for and has received a permit from Akron Regional Air Quality Management District, on behalf of the Ohio EPA, to conduct a prescribed burn to eliminate a 3/4 acre area of phragmites grass. Prescribed burning is a recognized means of managing invasive and destructive species such as phragmites, a non-native marsh grass. The burn will be conducted within the next two weeks, weather dependent, by the Hudson Fire Department with the assistance of prescribed burn specialists from Metro Parks, Serving Summit County.
