1. What are the Park hours?

Parks are open from dawn until dusk 365 days a year.

2. Can I rent a canoe at Hudson Springs Park?

No, we do not rent canoes at Hudson Springs Park. The boats you see stored by the lake are privately owned, and the owners pay to store them here.

3. When is the Parks Office open?

The Parks Department is part of the Public Works Department and the office is located at 1140 Terex Road. The office hours are 8-4:30 Monday-Friday.

4. Can I store my canoe at Hudson Springs Park?

We do have boat and canoe storage at Hudson Springs Park. It is $100 annually. Boats must be registered with the State of Ohio. We do not allow non-registered boats to be stored at Hudson Springs Park. At times, there is a waiting list for boat and canoe storage. Please contact the Public Works Office at 330-342-1750 for further information.

5. Can I fish at Hudson Springs Park?

Yes. Residents fish for free as do children under 16. Non-residents may buy a day pass for $10 or a season pass for $75. The season runs from January 31-January 31. Limits are posted and enforced.

6. Do you stock the lake at Hudson Springs Park?

We do stock the lake annually. Mostly, we add a wide variety of fingerlings; crappie, blue gill, channel cat, shell cracker, and perch. In the fall we include some full-sized trout and walleye.

7. Can I or my pet swim at Hudson Springs Park?

No. We do not allow swimming in the lake. We do stock it as a fishing lake and there are animals such as snapping turtles who have made our lake their home

8. Can I bring my dog to any of Hudson Parks?

Dogs on leashes are welcome at all of Hudson’s Parks. By City ordinance, dogs are not allowed to be off leash except in designated areas. There is a small dog run at Hudson Springs Park located about a quarter of a mile beyond the restrooms along the trail. Bags are provided at the beginning of most trails to clean up after your pet as required by City ordinance.

9. Can I take wedding photos in the park?

Yes. Hudson parks are open to anyone dawn to dusk.

10. Can I sign up for classes offered at the park or sports teams?

Unlike most cities, Hudson has two separate entities for Parks and Recreation. Recreation is scheduled through Hudson Community Education and Recreation (HCER) which is not affiliated with the City. They can be reached at 330-653-1210.
